What are the costs?
The rate schedule varies between $2,800 – $4,000 per week plus $250 cleaning fee. There is also a 6% tax for the State of Florida plus a 6% local tax. Weeks run from Saturdays to Saturdays. Contact us should you require a different arrival/departure day.
We have an electric golf cart that we rent separately for $250/week plus a $300 refundable deposit. Just let us know if you want to rent the golf cart before you reserve the house and we will include it. Children under 14 are not allowed to operate a golf cart in Florida. If you require a 2nd cart, this can sometimes be arranged by us. Can the house be rented for less than a week?
Yes, for a minimum of 4 nights. Stay requests are reviewed and granted at a rate of $550 per night. This rate includes the cleaning fee and all taxes.
Can the house be rented for more than a week?
Long-Term Renters Welcome. Please call to discuss length of stay – actual rates will depend on the month(s) and lengths of your proposed stay.
Can I bring my dog? (No cats or any other animals sorry)
Yes, we will consider the small family doggie. Please call so that we can discuss.
Non-refundable fee: $100 per dog + tax. License, vaccinations, and preventative flea control required. In addition, please properly dispose of pet waste. Pets must be on a leash at all times when outside the house and/or on the beach.
The perfect guests are those looking for a relaxed vacation, in an extremely well-appointed home with beautiful surroundings and peace and privacy. Visitors looking for lots of nightlife or those who prefer to eat every meal in a restaurant and don’t want to cook on vacation would probably be happier on the mainland.
Minimum Age Limit for Renters: We desire ONLY responsible renters 25 years or older. No party people please.
Maximum of 8 people staying in the home. Only with owner’s permission (and at $100 per person extra per night), could extra guests be accommodated. This includes children. Although the house is large, we cannot exceed capacity due to the fragile septic systems on island homes.
Children Welcome: the entire house is kid friendly together with a pack and play, high chair, children’s pool, books, puzzles, and beach toys.
Handicap Accessible. The spacious bedroom on the first floor together with bathroom/shower is handicapped accessible.
How do I make a reservation?
Reservations are made when we receive your check, wire our bank, or payment through PayPal or Zelle.
The email to use in Paypal is The.Rondavel@gmail.com. Please select “friends or family payment”. Reservation dates are on a first come first serve basis. If you want or need to plan on a certain date, we suggest you mail or wire a deposit to reserve your time slots early.
The deposit (50% of the rent and the refundable damage deposit of $500) is due when the reservation is made. The remaining balance (50% of rental, cleaning fee, and 12 % tax) is due 1 month prior to arrival. Note that your account must be paid in full 30 days prior to your arrival. You can always make a reservation at the last minute as one never knows if there is a vacancy or not. In this case, the total amount will be due.
What happens if we cancel our reservation and need a refund?
Obviously the house has been taken off the market for your personal stay and other rental opportunities have been lost. Accordingly, if you change your plans, you need to let us know as soon as possible. We will immediately put The Rondavel back on the market and try to rent it for your rental term. If we are successful in obtaining a renter for your time slot, then you will receive a full refund less a $75.00 cancellation fee. If we are unsuccessful, then you will forfeit your rent. Your damage deposit will be refunded.
When should we receive our deposit back?
Assuming there are no damaged items, you will receive your deposit back within two weeks.
What types of problems are typically withheld from the deposit?
Deposit deductions are typically made for smoking in the house or for major damage such as the replacement of felt on the pool table if ripped because of improper use. Occasionally there is a charge for minor damage or missing items, but this is not the norm. Trash that is not removed from the home runs at $30 per bag.
Strictly non-smoking in the house (includes no incense burning). Smoking only outside of the house at either the firepit or palapa area. Deposit will be forfeited for smoking in the house.
What happens if something breaks or there are other problems that need attention during our stay?
Accidents happen. We can usually be reached via phone and will do our best to get problems taken care of as quickly as possible. But, due to the nature of island living, instant repairs are not always possible. We do provide phone numbers for relevant emergency repair services (AC, appliances, water system, etc.) and you are authorized to contact them directly if you are unable to reach us immediately in case of an emergency.
